12:04 am - Lousy service from Singtel
|
*#*^#$^#& Very very mad with Singtel. Gona lodge a complaint first thing on Monday. We waited the whole afternoon for Singtel to come and resolve our phone issue but nobody turned up. And each time we called Singtel, we were told the technician will call us back but didnt. We must have called Singtel at least 6 times and each time the ans was the same. Somebody will call us back.
By 8pm, we had to go out for dinner so we called Singtel to check on the status. That was when Singtel told us their technician cld not make it for today. Wa lau, they didnt even have the decency to inform us abt it. If they cant fulfill their appointment just say so. Dont make us wait and wait for nothing. Argghhhhh...Hubs insisted that their manager called us back for an explanation. Needless to say until now, nobody has called.
If it is not becos our plan with Singtel is expiring only early next year, I wld have terminated their services right away. Argghhh....
The battle will continue on Mon.

8:53 pm - Eye cream..
|
Bought the Clarins new eye lift today. Not expecting much but I hope it helps with the puffiness at least.

Clarins Defining Eye Lift The first skin care to reveal the full natural expressive beauty of Asian eyes. This incredibly fine oil-free gel restores, day after day, more expression and sparkle to your eyes. This is made possible through and in-depth understanding of the physiology of the Asian eye contour: Defining Eye Lift is the first product to take into account the three factors affecting the expressive beauty of the eyes and effectively fight them through threee simultaneous actions of lightening, draining and brightening.
Beauty Benefits : -Immediate lifting effect provides an instant tightening effect on the eyelids. -Lightening action helps reduce heaviness of the eyelids. -Draining action stimulates lymphatic circulation to prevent eyelid puffiness. -Brightening action stimulates blood circulation, improves skin hydration and reduces redness of the eye contour.
Ingredients : -Senegalese Acacia -Maritime Pine bark extract, Dextran Sulphate -Rose
Eyeing this next. At $280 it better be good.

La Mer The Eye Concentrate A concentrated, ultraluxe eye treatment that lightens dark circles, deflates puffiness, hydrates and smoothes out lines and wrinkles.
The sensitive skin around the eyes is particularly vulnerable to stress, time and the harmful effects of the environment - requiring special attention. Time to get a new digital cam. Cant decide whether to get the Sony T20 or Canon Ixus 75. I have been a canon user all these while and I like canon cameras in general. Great pics, reliable, user-friendly. But the Sony T20 sounds and looks good too.
Decision, decision.....

11:18 pm - Undomestic Goddess..
|
Two papers and one presentation coming up next week so I needed something light to relax my mind a little. Grab this on the way back since Kinokuniya is having 20% storewide sales for members. I hope it is as funny as the Shopaholic series. I need a good laugh to release my work stress :)
The Undomestic Goddess by Sophie Kinsella

My name is Samantha Smith. I am twenty-seven. I have never baked a loaf of bread in my life. I don't know how to unfold an ironing board. What I do know is how to construct a contract exploiting European corporate tax harmonisation and save my client £3 million. Samantha Smith got the highest law degree of her year. She's on the fast track for a partnership at a high pressure legal firm. Her time is worth £50 every six minutes. She works nights, she works weekends, she never sees the sunlight. Her home life is non-existent. She thrives on the pressure and the adrenalin. Until.... she makes a mistake. A mistake so huge, it will wreck her career.
She goes into meltdown, walks right out of the office, gets on the first train she sees, and finds herself in the middle of nowhere. Asking for directions at a big, beautiful house, she is mistaken by Eddie and Trish Geiger for the interviewee housekeeper and finds herself being offered the job. The Geigers have no idea they've hired a Cambridge educated lawyer with an IQ of 158 as their housekeeper - Samantha has no idea how to work the oven.
Gradually Samantha starts to learn. She learns how to bake bread, she learns how to slow down. But then her old life threatens to catch up with her. And when it does... will she want it back?
